Who doesn’t love a parade? The Fountain Square Arts Council invite you to participate in an all ages event with neighborhood residents, artists, musicians and more at the 2010 Fountain Square Art Parade
What is the Fountain Square Art Parade?
The Fountain Square Arts Council is proud to present, the 2010 Fountain Square Art Parade, a unique community event where everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate.
The parade is a one-of-a-kind platform for presenting artwork in the public sphere. We encourage groups and organizations, family and friends and any other creative minds out there to sign up to be a part of this unique event. Our event will showcase contemporary artworks of all sizes and shapes that address parades, street pageantry and community celebration The parade is scheduled for Saturday, September 18, and will be held in conjunction with Masterpiece in a Day and the Fountain Square Art Fair. This is an all-ages event.
Getting In On the Fountain Square Art Parade
Anyone can participate!
Individuals or groups may generate content for the parade such as floats, marches or dances, or portable artworks. To register your project information for inclusion in the 2010 Fountain Square Art Fair, fill out this form:
Optional - You may submit images that depict either past projects or your planned parade project via Flickr or Picasa. Instructions will follow submission.
About The Parade Route
- All participants should plan on being on site at 901 Shelby Street at 3:00pm the day of the event. Parade will begin approximately at 4:00pm.
- Parade will end south of the fountain
- Please be sure that all parade mechanisms and people are capable of completing the entire parade route.
- The parade route requires a maximum artwork height of 13 feet to avoid power lines and other infrastructure.
- Transport of all projects to and from parade site is the sole responsibility of parade participants.
